Indiana swimmers fared well in the national 10K and 5K postal events. Hosted by North Carolina Masters Swimming, participants completed a 10K or a 5K in a pool of their choice.
Three Indiana swimmers were winners in the national 10K Postal: DOC’s Jutta Schickore, 45-49, 2:24:21.82 and Indy SwimFit’s Victoria Rian, 40-44, 2:18:41.20 and Jeffrey Halbert, 35-39, 2:15:27.20.
In fact, they were the only Indiana swimmers to compete in the 10K.
Victoria also won the 5K postal.
DOC had two second place relays (18+ women and 55+ men) as well as a first in the 18+ mixed relay. In the women’s relay, the team consisted of Susan Blake, 32; Schickore, 45; and Elizabeth Munroe, 20. The men’s team included David Tanner, 60; Wayne Winston, 60 and Robert Wright, 56.
The winning mixed relay included Munroe, Wright, Schickore and Tanner.
