GRIN offers coach’s clinic

GRIN is offering a coaching clinic for level 1 and level 2 certification on April 27 at North Central High School on Indianapolis’s northside.

The program is valuable for full-time, part-time or volunteer coaches, anyone supporting their current team or coaches or anyone interested in starting a masters program.

GRIN will offer scholarships to defray the cost for qualified candidates – click here for an application form. Download it, fill it out, and send it to GRIN Coaches Chairman Brian Cummings at bcummings1@live.com.

The cost is $170 for both certifications or $95 individually.  Attendance will be capped at 40.

Want to volunteer or swim at the USMS Nationals? Read more

The order of events, paper entry and qualifying times have been posted for the 2013 United States Masters Swimming Spring Nationals May 9-12 at the Natatorium at IUPUI in Indianapolis. Online registration will be going up soon.

nationalsYou can swim three events without qualifying, and six events with qualifying times. But it’s the honor system. I’d urge you to consider this meet. Nationals area a lot of fun, and it’s an opportunity to have it so close to home. You don’t have to be an elite swimmer to compete. Find more information at http://www.usms.org/comp/scnats13/.

If you’re planning to attend from out of town, reserve a hotel room now! Festivities with the Indianapolis 500 will be in full swing by May. Hotel rooms are running short.
