Kendallville spring fling a success

Kendallville Masters 2013We had 47 swimmers present for the 27th Annual Spring Fever Masters Meet at the Cole YMCA in Kendallville, IN. March 9, 2013

Its a great meet for the whole family. We had father and son Stephen Holland from Indianapolis and Matthew Holland from Kokomo, Husband and wife Marc and Jill Quinn with their daughter as a #1fan, Caitlyn, and 2 sisters(and I’m sorry I didn’t get their names) and father Eric Ellingson and his daughter Claire Ellingson. We had some National cuts established and one state record broken by Lou Ann Dixon from LaPorte IN., (unnattached – so some team better snatch her up!!). Anyway Lou Ann broke the 45-49 women’s 100 Breaststroke State Record with a time of 1:18.67!

We were honored to have GRIN officers Cheryl, Susan, Chris, Randy and Dave. Glad they were there so we can have the opportunity to publicly thank them for all the work they do all year. Donald Kroeger from Monroe Mi. swam like an animal as usual swimming in 13 events. He’s back from shoulder surgery from a year ago and you’d never know it. Jeff Osterman was a little over 2 seconds off the 200 fly state record, but I’m sure he’ll get that at State or Nationals.

The surprise relay was six teams of 5 swimmers each carrying a dozon eggs 50 yrds., some needing help from team mates to keep them together and there was great strategizing and good teamwork!

We enjoyed the dinner and video after the meet which continues to be a great time to critique our own strokes while refueling. The Cole Y team would like to thank everyone who swam and everyone who helped put on the meet and work that day. Hope to see all of you next year!

Purdue posts psych sheets, timeline

There’s still time to register for the Purdue meet here. We have roughly 100 swimmers signed up for the inaugural meet on campus.

The Purdue masters team, iSWIM, has posted an updated preliminary psych sheet as of Saturday morning iswim invitational psych sheet (2) and an updated time line iswim invitational session report. There are four heats of the 1650, so plan accordingly. Here is a campus map campus map.

You’ll notice on the psych sheet that the meet software rounded up ages. iSWIM knows, and they’re fixing that. This is just a chance to see how the meet is stacking up.
