Indy SwimFit wins state meet

YMCA Indy SwimFit won the state meet Saturday and Sunday at Fishers High School, defeating  second-place Noblesville Adult Swim Team Inc. (NASTI) 3,579 to 2,369. In all, 14 teams from five states competed.

SwimFit dominated the women’s division, scoring 1,800. NASTI was second with only 568.

NASTI took first in the men’s division, edging SwimFit 1755 to 1566.

‘High Tec’ Suits approved for USMS Open Water Events

FINA Executives held a meeting in Lausanne Switzerland on June 19, 2009 to consider the swimsuits approvals under the transitory regulations in accordance with the Dubai Charter.  The Executive reviewed the recommendations of the Swimsuit Commission issued on June 18, 2009 in connection with the swimsuits subject to re-examination further to the first Commission Meeting on May 19, 2009.

The Manufacturers have re-presented their swimsuits with modifications. In certain cases, the Manufacturers have submitted arguments regarding the fact the construction or material of their swimsuits would not create air trapping effects.

Fireman fights cancer with water, not fire

Mike receives a massage from fellow swimmer and professional massage therapist Susan Herner during one of his breaks.

Fireman Mike Young is used to fighting fires with water, but this year, on his 42nd birthday, this fireman fought cancer with water.  He waged his battle by swimming a long distance swim fundraiser and named it the Aquathon.
